MEDIPARK AT TN APPROVED BY UNION CABINET

As per the “MAKE IN INDIA”, Medical Devices Manufacturing Unit will be set up in chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu under the Union Cabinet approval.

HLL Lifecae ltd is shareholder of this project with Tamil Nadu Government.

About this Project:

This project will encourage the local manufacturing units of high efficiency products in a lower cost, so that all people will get medical devices in affordable price.

It will encourage the growth of domestic products and will reduce the dependence on the imports.

WORLD SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT

The first edition of the World Sustainable Development Summit organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi was inaugurated by The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

NEW SOLAR POWERED GUARD VAN OF GOODS TRAIN

The newly manufactured Guard Van of Goods (Freight) Train service at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station was started.

About this train:

This Train (8 wheeled) has been equipped for the first time with Solar powered Light, Fan, Mobile Charging Point along with the facility of Zero discharge Bio Toilet.

MODI’s MIDAS TOUCH IN FOREIGN POLICY

 Venkaiah Naidu, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, released the book titled Modi’s Midas Touch in Foreign Policy.

The book is authored by Ambassador Surendra Kumar.

About this book:

This book deals with the progress and important of India’s foreign policy by the Prime Minister in the last two and half years.

It maps the different policy initiatives focusing on the vision of developing India into a strong economically developed nation.

NOBLE PEACE PRIZE 2016

Colombian President JUAN MANUEL SANTOS awarded the Nobel peace prize 2016 for his efforts to bring the country’s more than 50 year long civil war to an end.

It was the first time the peace prize went to Latin America since 1992, when the committee awarded Guatemalan human rights activist Rigoberta Menchu.

RANI KI VAV – CLEANEST ICONIC PLACE

Rani ki Vav, Gujarat The World Heritage site declared as the cleanest iconic place in India at the Indian Sanitation Conference (INDOSAN) 2016 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT LEADERSHIP AWARD 2016

Pawan Chamling, Chief Minister of Sikkim was awarded the sustainable development leadership award 2016 for his leadership in environment and sustainable development leading to the establishment of Sikkim as the first and only organic state in the country.

About his contribution:

On the initiative of Chamling, a historic declaration was made through a Resolution in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly on 24 February 2003 for transforming Sikkim into a Total Organic State.

The state government created category-wise organic farming schemes and organic action plans to set the targets of conversion.

They imposed complete ban on collection of medicinal plants and non-timber forest produce for commercial purposes and framed Statutory Rules for mandatory planting of ten saplings.
